Blog Archive B-School Chart of the Week MBA Merchandise Gets a Makeover Although quantifying a school’s profile certainly does not tell you everything, it can sometimes be helpful in simplifying the many differences between the various MBA programs. Each week, we bring you a chart to help you decide which of the schools’ strengths speak to you. Despite the cachet that the name carries, wearing a Harvard Business School (HBS) T-shirt will not likely do you any favors during a job interview. Fortunately, Bloomberg Businessweek recently featured a rundown of some ways in which business schools are branding merchandise beyond the drab domain of athletic wear. From the elegant $1,995 TAG Heuer Aquaracer watch, which is exclusive to HBS and Wharton through M. LaHart Co. Ltd., to the rather rustic-looking Dartmouth cheese cutting board, business schools seem to be realizing that the MBA crowd just might have tastes that are not quite served by standard campus bookstore fare. Among the schools we examined, Wharton seems to offer its graduates some pretty sophisticated (and pricey) options for flaunting their alma mater.
